Job purpose

Motivated Children Group Instructor with one year of solid experience managing all levels of sport and exercise activities with children. Capable of leading, instructing, and motivating groups in physical, mental and social activities. Educates on fitness, safety and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Dynamic communicator.
  • Strong leadership.
  • Client-focused capable of providing solutions to children on class site.
  • Perform class activities in a fun and interesting manner.
  • Capable of juggling multiple tasks with technological equipment during class.
  • Organized mind set and capable of studying and preparing class material and equipment.
  • Capable of performing training, classes and training programs within time frame provided.
  • Instructs children on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises.
  • Assists children, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants.
  • Keeps management informed of customer and facility needs.
  • Ensures that safety standards are met, and facility policies are adhered to.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Special Requirements

  • Must possess current CPR AED certification.
  • Certified Instructor (ACE, AFAA) or equivalent. Additional specialty/certifications preferred.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles.
  • Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies.
  • Ability to be professional and motivate class participants.
  • Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works with various types of fitness equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, and loud when in the facility and while performing duties.
